El cobertizo

Laura opens her eyes in a place she doesn't recognise. She is alone, frightened, and chained hand and foot inside an abandoned shed. Across from her she senses a door, but a large shelving unit in the middle of the room blocks her view of what lies beyond.

With no idea how she got there or who locked her in, Laura tries to survive with what little she finds: a cool box with water and packaged meat, a few forgotten objects, and a book that becomes her only refuge against the fear. Every day she screams for help. Every day she waits for an answer. But the only thing she hears is a strange lament from the other side of the shed — an invisible presence that both accompanies and terrifies her in equal measure.

Laura is eleven years old.
