Synopsis

Social drama

A tour guide travels through the Canary Islands while presenting the side of the island that never appears in the brochures. Through her eyes, we meet the people who live on the margins of the tourist paradise: a waitress worn down by precarious conditions, an elderly neighbour displaced by gentrification, a young migrant trying to start over, and an artist who, through his work, challenges the tourist model.

The documentary contrasts the postcard image with reality, revealing the lives that sustain a dream destination without ever being part of it. Among beaches, apartments and picture-perfect hotels, we discover how mass tourism shapes daily life, housing and the local economy — and how those who never make it onto the postcard navigate between the illusion of paradise and their own reality.
